Wishing You a Warm Holiday Season and a Happy New Year
On behalf of everyone at The Learning Enrichment Foundation, we wish you a wonderful holiday season and a happy New Year.
Our offices will be closed from December 23rd, 2023 to January 1st, 2024. Services will resume on January 2nd, 2024.
In 2023, LEF featured what makes it so great, and that is YOU, the LEF community. To end the year, we are pleased to recap some of what happened every month, and how YOU helped make it possible.
In January, you came out to join us for a conversation-filled community supper where we ate great food and discussed our hopes, dreams, and needs for the future of Mount Dennis.
In February, you learned from our bike experts how to put a bike together safely, reliably, and quickly in our Bike Assembly and Maintenance Workshops, gaining some valuable experience!
In March, the Seniors @ LEF came together to share their photography, art, and crochet. Some of you hadn’t seen each other for years due to the pandemic and we love seeing the friendships in our community.
In April, you made our job fairs a hit! Our in-person RECE & ECA Job Fair, along with a virtual job fair featuring over 20+ companies, would not have been possible without your support!
In May, you visited us during Toronto's 9th Annual Newcomer Day! It was amazing to meet with you and talk about how LEF provides aid to those new to Canada.
In June, you came out all month long and showed your support during National Indigenous History Month and learned from the land with Edge of the Bush, with whom we celebrated during the Summer Solstice.
In July, our learning and fun-filled Summer Program kicked off, and you were there for every day of it! We learned, shared, ate and even had a field trip to learn about the Pearen Park Tipi!
In August, you dropped by the BBQ at 55 Emmett, and we played, listened to music, and ate great food together. This event was the highlight of the year, we loved seeing you all there!
In September, so much happened! You came out to our Community Town Hall, saw our "Empowering Internationally Educated Healthcare Professionals" event, visited the Annual Youth Career Meet, and joined us for Truth and Reconciliation Week.
In October, you came out in record numbers for our Job Fair & Career Expo. The event couldn't have reached its scale without you including that of our volunteers, staff, & partners!
In November, you mattered. LEF's 8th Annual Mental Wellness Day was a hit as we shared ways to de-stress and appreciate ourselves.
And now, in December, Seniors @ LEF had a Holiday Gathering full of fun, making friends, and enjoying amazing festive food. We also gave away 150 bikes to the LEF community with donations from the Air Canada Foundation and My First Wheels.
